Well, as things start getting back to the new normal, I returned for a visit on 3rd July 2022, for a series of interviews with local Tanzanian artists, just to get new and fresh content for my blog and youtube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCieUsRDkVsZscgIuWJ0BR8w).
Before travelling to Daresalaam I contacted several hotels for partnership, luckily several agreed to my request but I decided to settle on one, South Beach Resort due to it's uniqueness.

Nyali MP Aspirant Said Abdalla Survives Assassination Attempt
The Nyali ODM parliamentary seat candidate Said Abdalla alias 'Saido' has claimed that his life is in danger after a shooting incident Sunday night.
The businessman- cum -politician said that he was shot at thrice by unknown people along Links road at around midnight when he was heading home.
Abdalla said that he saw a group of about ten people at Mamba roundabout and stopped to check what was wrong to offer his assistance.
As he approached them, he realised they were supporters of Nyali MP Mohammed Ali. They accosted him forcing him to run to a petrol station about 100 Meters away.
"They charged at me forcing me to run to a petrol station nearby to seek refuge," said Abdalla.
He was alone in the car when the incident occurred.
"As I was making frantic calls to my team to come and assist me, they followed me to the petrol station. One person who was armed took out his gun and shot in the air,"
"I hid in a corner and lied on the floor, only for the person to charge towards my direction and shoot again," he said.
The group he said fled the scene and he managed to get back to his car.
He said that he had driven a distance of about 300 meters only to see a car parked along the road when he was shot at again.
"I put on full light and sped off, thats when I heard another gun shot behind me. They had the intention to kill me, but I thank God I survived," Abdalla said.
He reported the matter to the Nyali police station OB number 02/18/07/2022.
Abdalla has called for police protection saying his life is now in danger.
He said that the matter was related to politics as the group at that time were removing his posters along the road.
"I urge my supporters to remain calm, in the mean time I call on the police to speed up investigations and apprehend the individuals behind it," said Abdalla.
Nyali Sub-County police commander Danniel Mumasaba confirmed the incident saying that they launched investigations immediately after Abdalla reported the matter.
"My officers rushed to the scene at 2am and conducted preliminary investigations. We revisited the scene this morning and recovered CCTV footage of what happened and managed to recover a spent bullet cartridge," said Mumasaba.
The officers also recovered a second spent cartridge at the second scene of the shooting 500 meters from the petrol station where the first two shootings occured.
"From the footage, we have seen that the person shot in the air and proceeded to his (Abdalla's) direction to shoot again. The man is seen picking the spent catrige before they fled the scene," Mumasaba said.
The cartridges have been sent to Nairobi for ballistic investigation to establish the type of gun used and who owns it.
Mumasaba also said that they will summon the MP to record a statement if the final investigations reveal that the cars captured in the footage belong to him.
He said that they were going through the footage to establish the identity of the shooter and all those behind the incident,"
"From the footage you can see that the cars are written Nyali One painted with the colours associated with the party the MP belongs to.
"However, the MP is not seen in the footage we have recovered, but if we manage to find him he will be called to record a statement. If not, we will still invite him over to tell us if he is aware of the incident," Mumasaba said.
Also recovered from the site were campaign posters belonging to Ali and Abdalla.
Abdalla is seeking to wrestle Ali from seat through the ODM party ticket with Ali seeking a second term under the United Democratic Alliance party allied to deputy president William Ruto.
The seat has attracted a total of 16 candidates.
Reacting to the report, Nyali Mp Mohammed Ali accused Abdallah of stage managing the whole event.
"We are used to there tactics, in 2017 they shot at their own car and accused us of being behind the shooting. We would like to tell them to let police do their work. Stage managing events and seeking sympathy will not help them." said Ali.
IEBC Revokes Sonko's Candidature For Governor
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has revoked former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko's clearance to vie for Mombasa Governor.
In a letter to Sonko, IEBC through the Mombasa county returning officer Swalha Yusuf cited the Supreme Court's judgement issued on Friday, July 15.
The Supreme Court upheld the Court of Appeal and High Court decision affirming Sonko's impeachment.
"In adherence to the Supreme Court judgement you are therefore disqualified from holding any public office and thus disqualified from contesting and being elected as the governor of Mombasa or any other county. Your candidature is invalidated and your certificate revoked," reads part of the letter.
The High Court had earlier cleared Sonko to run for the seat paving way for IEBC clearance.
IEBC cleared Sonko to vie for the Mombasa governor seat last week.
Widow Opposes Exhumation Of Late Husband Body
Businessman Anverali Nazerali's widow Kiran Nazerali said in a replying affidavit the investigations asked for in the application were prompted by the deceased's brother.
She insisted the estranged brother has been questioning the circumstances that led to his brother's death and wondered why the report is not reproduced in his application despite demanding for the exhumation and autopsy to be carried out on the deceased's body.
"To make matters worse my in-law has not been good books with my late husband to the extent they did see eye to eye due to a dispute when the family company was transferred to the deceased," she pointed out.
Kiran confirmed in her replying affidavit that the relationship between her late husband and his estranged brother had been hostile.
She was replying in an affidavit against the matter before Mombasa Senior Resident Magistrate Vincent Adet through her counsel Mohamed Balala, arguing that the application was an abuse of court process.
The widow claimed she has been traumatized by the events after the death of her husband.
Kiran said in her replying affidavit in court that her in-law never allowed her to grieve the death of her beloved husband peacefully like other widows as required by law.
The late businessman's widow and her daughter Mahek Fatima said the application is based on malice and was against their wish.
Kiran argued in her replying affidavit before the court that the application was an abuse of court process.
She pointed out there is malice in the application before the court arguing neither the children nor she suspected foul play in his death.
"We believe the application has an ill intent and we are opposed to the exhumation of the deceased's remains," she pointed out.
The widow said the move by her in-law is due to suspicon of foul play in the death of the deceased and demanding for a post-mortem to be carried out to establish the cause of death.
Kiran further said the application by her in-law is driven by malice and is filled with blatant lies and urged the court to dismiss it with costs.
She argued in her affidavit the request to exhume the body is radical and an extreme step.
"If the application to exhume the body is successful it will be against the belief of their religion and our customs," she pointed out.
The widow argued that it’s the wish of the family that the body of the deceased remains undisturbed so that he retains his dignity even in death
Kiran said according to a medical report and death certificate her husband died from kidney failure and not as alleged by her in-law.
"The circumstances being questioned are ambiguous at best as the cause leading to his death are clear," she pointed out.
