Miss World Kenya 2019 Maria Wavinya Honoured

Miss World Kenya 2019, Ms. Maria Wavinya jetted back into the country early on Monday morning on a direct Kenya Airways flight from London, where she had competed in the Miss World competition and emerged an impressive overall 6th position out of 119.

Accompanied by the Mr and Miss World Kenya Franchise owner, Miss Terry Mungai, Maria arrived back in the country to be honored with an elegant homecoming breakfast courtesy of Villa Rosa Kempinski.

As partners of Miss World Kenya, Villa Rosa Kempinski will accord Maria a two-day staycation at the Westlands hotel as she recovers from the jetlag from her trip.

Present at the breakfast were leaders from Maria’s home county of Nyandarua led by H.E the Governor and First Lady, Francis and Ann Kimemia.

In his message of congratulations, the Governor emphasized how Maria had fast risen to be a significant role model in the community at such a young age. He went on to further challenge her to use her time and influence towards nurturing young talent and mentoring young girls to aim for high goals.

H.E First Lady Ann Kimemia commended Maria for her noble character, discipline and dedication in the competition. She advised her to follow in the path of celebrated beauty queens and highlight a cause close to her heart in order to give it the due attention.

Ashleys Kenya CEO and Founder Mrs. Mungai, who happens to also be the franchise owner of the Mr and Miss World Franchise, expounded on how Wavinya had faired in the global competition; from being shortlisted to the top 40, making it to the top 25 and being the first to make it through to the final 12 before finally emerging as the sixth most beautiful lady in the world.

She credited Maria for her diligence in the activities she took part in and the resolution to stand out patriotically in all her outfits. This was a key element that made her shine bright among others and that the judges awarded.
