Deputy President William Ruto’s eldest son, Nick, yesterday (Sunday) toured Mombasa where he attended a volleyball tournament in Jomvu Constituency organised by businessman-cum-politician, Mohamed Abdalla.
Nick said Kenyan youth have great potential to transform the country into a vibrant economic giant in the region but they need support from the government.
He also challenged the government to come up with ways of supporting youth activities, programmes and organisations arguing that the youth have enough potential and all they need is just support.
On his part, his host Mohammed Abdalla said drugs still remain the main challenge facing the youth especially in Mombasa and the Coast region at large calling on corporates to also partner with the government in supporting the youth.
Mohammed who is the Crown Petroleum Kenya boss is said to eyeing the Jomvu parliamentary seat in the 2022 elections while Nick is said to be groomed by his father the DP for the Turbo parliamentary seat. Ruto once represented the constituency in Parliament.
