The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI ) has once again emerged among the best organizations in various categories during the 2022 Mombasa ASK show held at the Mkomani Show grounds.
KEMRI scooped “The best display and services in health sector and Pharmaceuticals stand” and also won the second position in other two categories which are “The Best local manufacturers stand” and “Education and or Research”. The judges applauded research institution for its continuing to lead and play a vital role in human health research and impacting lives not only in Kenya and across the globe.
KEMRI had entered for judgment in four categories and emerged the best in all.
- The Best Display and Services in Health sector and Pharmaceuticals stand 1st Position
- The Best Local Manufacturers Stand 2nd Position
- Education and or Research 2nd Position
With more than one hundred and twenty-five exhibitors participating in this year’s Mombasa ASK show whose theme is Promoting innovation and technology in Agriculture and trade, KEMRI’s contribution continued to attract members of the public, dignitaries and students.
Among the issues highlighted at the KEMRI stand are new research findings and new products that KEMRI is innovating especially after the COVID 19 pandemic, and lessons learnt.
The performance was warmly received by KEMRI’s Acting Director General Prof. Sam Kariuki through his representative Director of Corporate Services, Anthony Wachira, who congratulated the team for putting up splendid performance and acknowledged the contributions from the KEMRI Board of Directors, the KEMRI Wellcome Trust, and all the staff for making the week-long event successful.
Speaking after receiving the The Best Display and Services in Health sector and Pharmaceuticals award from Deputy Rigathi Gachagua , Dr sophie Uyoga a scienstist at KEMRI said she was delighted that the organization had achieved a lot in human health research and the award is the acknowledgement of a job well done and hard work that the organization has invested in .
The show which has made a comeback after a two years break due to Covid 19 was officially opened by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Thursday.
