Hamisi Mwaguya has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA).

Mwaguya who vied for the Mombasa Senator seat through UDA party replaces Geoffrey Mwango who haa been serving in the position since 2019.

Mwaguya lost to ODM's  Mohammed Faki.

Mwaguya who once served as the economic advisor of former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho was appointed through a gazette notice signed by president William Ruto on November 17, 2022.
