Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has called on members of the Kamba community in Mombasa to vote for Mvita Mp Abdulswamad Nassir as the next Mombasa governor in the coming polls.
Nassir is vying for the Mombasa governor seat on an ODM ticket.
Speaking during a consultative meeting with the Akamba Community at the Ronald Ngala grounds, Ngilu termed Nassir as the best candidate for the job.
"I worked with your father for a very long time, I did not even think that his son will be an Mp and a governor. To you my people I would like to tell you to stick with him (Nassir), he is your best bet" said Ngilu.
This comes after former Wiper candidate for the Mombasa seat, Mike Sonko joined Kenya Kwanza team after being blocked from contesting for the seat ,by the court due to impeachment cases.
The Kamba community is the second largest vote bloc in Mombasa county after Mijikenda with over 40,000 votes.
Ngilu also drummed up for the support of The Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Hon. Raila Odinga and his deputy Martha Karua, as a person who has fought for the freedom of all Kenyans. She termed the Deputy President William Ruto as a bitter candidate who hauls insults at the president despite the good work the president has done.
On his part, Nassir took the opportunity to assure Akamba Community of the good relationship that will exist in the county once he sucurees the Mombasa top seat. He also rebuked his political rivals who have been spreading the political of tribe and race.
