Phones have evolved immensely since the 80’s, both in design and function and several models of phones have since launched in the market in tandem with customers' dynamic demands.

realme, which is currently the fastest growing smartphone brand adopts a trendsetting design concept that it has always adhered to in a bid to bring back trendy culture in the technology space.

The brand explores art and beauty, going beyond the constraints of conventional aesthetics technology to bring trendsetting aesthetic design to consumption in electronic products.

Less than a month after being launched in the Kenyan market, realme C15 is gaining momentum with its unique features and design, for an entry level smartphone, as well as its affordability with the 64GB going for 16,999 shillings while the128GB  going for 19,999 shillings, thus redefining the whole smartphone experience in its category.

A deep dive into realme C15’s design reveals detailed and finer particulars of a geometric design with the back cover divided into three different angles of lines by a trapezoid.

This kind of design gives the phone a regular and unpredictable visual effect. It is the design of the future. Simple, but not boring, inspired by the everyday lifestyle of the young generation.

The back cover texture is achieved using the industry leading German five axis precise radium engraving machine after 300 minutes of polishing. This gives the phone a sense of class.

The curves are engraved to create a special reflective light effect making realme C15 more colorful, appealing, comfortable in your hands, less susceptible to fingerprints and effectively prevents scratching and sliding.

Furthermore, to achieve real design in visual effects, realme UI is designed keeping 4 things in mind - system colors, icons, wallpapers, and animations. In terms of colors, realme UI uses high-saturation and high-brightness colors to construct an authentic color scheme, bringing a sense of vitality and freshness.

realme UI uses the core elements found in commonly seen everyday items. For example, the "Settings" icon, derived from gear parts, is restructured through an infinite collection of circles that derive from a primary circle with the golden ratio. It is a geometric proportion that adds on to the aesthetics.

This design style brings a minimalist and dynamic icon design, which is more vivid and orderly.

To match the vibrant app icons, realme UI also brings in 11 new wallpapers inspired by natural elements which are indeed a perfect match for its color scheme.

In terms of system animation, realme UI is equipped with the latest quantum animation engine, which improves the screen fluency. Meanwhile, more optimization has been made in the details of the animation, making it super cool and enjoyable.

Available in both marine blue and seagull silver, the realme C15 comes with a mini-drop screen that adopts newly-upgraded stack process, which, on the basis of guaranteeing functions, creatively draws the parts and components closer to each other so that the area of droplets is reduced allowing you to have less visual disturbance while enjoying the comforts brought by 6.5-inch large full screen.

And of course, on top those amazing designs, comes the massive 6000mAh battery that is the first of its kind that charges fast and lasts longer. What is more, the phone is below 20,000 shillings in costs.

With realme keen on real design, it is no wonder the smartphone brand has bagged top international design awards, including smartphone products the realme X Master Edition, the realme X2 Pro Master Edition, the realme X50 5G Master Edition, the realme X50 Pro 5G and its first TWS earphone, the realme Buds Q.

Among them, the realme X Master Edition bagged the German Design Award and the Award for Good Design Australia.

The realme X2 Pro Master Edition won the Red Dot Design Award, the Good Design Award 2020 and the realme X50 5G Master Edition clinched the  Good Design Award from Australia.

The first 5G flagship, the realme X50 Pro 5G has also been acknowledged by the Good Design Award 2020 and the Golden Pin Design Award.

Having a realme brand is an assurance of quality that is being trusted by others from around the world.

Salon and wellness services online booking platform, Saspacity, has rolled out its services in Kenya as it targets to tap into the country's billion shillings beauty industry.

The platform, which has already gone live on Google Play Store, seeks to connect salons, barbershops, stylists, and professionals providing beauty and other health and wellness services and products to clients seeking services.

With over 400 salons, 1800 styles and 2000 unique haircare and wellness services, Saspacity will allow clients to search and discover beauty services/parlours, explore latest styles, compare prices, get reviews, check out discounts and offers from different salons and book beauty appointments online.

It works in the same way one would prefer to use Uber or Lyft as opposed to hailing a cab. Customers can seek out stylists online for manicures, blowouts, and even spa services like facials.

According to Ernest Were, a co-founder, one can book a slot for the desired service online and show up at the salon or book a slot with a freelancing stylist to deliver the service at their location, minimizing movement as a result of Covid-19 pandemic.

We have included an e-wallet, which allows clients to credit their wallet via M-PESA before they make bookings. This is convenient because then they can always book a service at a later date without the worry of spending the set money for grooming on other things, Were explained.

Saspacity was started to help hair stylists in Kenya, most of whom may not be tech-savvy, dont have adequate access to schedule management, custom statistics, and online booking software, as well as those who do not have the expertise nor the capital to market themselves.

According to research we conducted on salons in the Kenyatta market, Umoja, Kamukunji, and Nairobi CBD, we found out that the average wait time for someone to be served was 50 minutes and during that time, customers walk away "he said.

Adding "Similarly, our findings showed that more than 50% of clients struggle to find information on beauty styling from variety of services offered, their pricing, the best place to get them, as a result, the majority of them end up settling for less than they could get. With Saspacity, everything is now centralized and both the buyer and the seller can walk away satisfied,

The platform targets those aged between 18 and 50 with a variety of services including all beauty services in the categories of hair (braiding, weaving, dreadlocks, hair styling), spa and massage, tattooing and piercing, men grooming (haircut, beard shaving, to name a few), nails, manicure, pedicure and beauty, and wellness products.

The prices are competitive with braids ranging from Ksh.500 to Ksh.3000 depending on the braid style, salon, and location; and nails from Ksh.150 to Ksh.4500 depending on style, salon, and location.

With Beauty & Personal Care Industry being one of the fastest-growing industries in Kenya, evidenced by the 400% growth in the last four years from Ksh 26 billion in 2015 to over Ksh 100 billion in 2019, Saspacitys inception is hoped to a success.

The unprecedented effect of COVID-19 on businesses is also set to catapult the platform since many people are shifting to home services to reduce risks of exposure. The pilot region for the launch is Nairobi with hopes to expand broadly into the African market.

U.S President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for coronavirus, the President announced early Friday morning.

"Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!" tweeted Trump.

The President had said earlier in the night that he planned to quarantine after he confirmed one of his longest-serving aides Hope Hicks  with whom he had recently traveled  received a positive test result.

"Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!" Trump tweeted Thursday night.

Trump, 74, was the latest world leader to test positive for COIVD-19. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson became the first major leader in March.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro also tested positive in July and recovered.

Trump has often downplayed the virus claiming the U.S. has the pandemic "under control''.

US has for recorded over 200,000 deaths from the virus.
