Former Assistant Minister Mohammed Hashim Supports Murkomen And Kihika Ouster

Former assistant minister for Local Government and Lamu County assembly speaker Mohammed Hashim has supported the recent move by President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party to ouster senators Kipchumba Murkomen and Susan Kihika from Senate Majority Leader and Chief Whip positions respectively..

According to Hashim the two legislators deserved the 'punishment' and should stop looking for sympathy from Kenyans and fellow politicians.

''A political party has its own rules and structure and it's upon every leader who has been elected through the party to adhere to rules. If you go against the rules then the party has all the powers to deal with you'' said Hashim.

Adding ''If you do not respect your leader and in this case the President, what else do you expect?, no party can allow such nonsense''

Hashim argued the action by the two legislators to shift their allegiance to Deputy President William Ruto is a clear indication that they do not respect the President.

''They are simply trying to say that they don't support the President's principles and leadership'' argued Hashim.

He further called on politicians from other parties to stop meddling in Jubilee party business.

''Just the other day I saw my friend Hassan Omar and other former senators criticising this move, let them focus on their business and stop meddling with other people's  business''

In the changes, Murkomen was replaced by West Pokot’s Samuel Poghisio as the majority leader Susan Kihika, who was the Senate chief whip, was also replaced by Irungu Kangata of Murang’a County.
