Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has this morning paid a courtesy call on retired President Daniel Moi at his Kabarak home.
Joho was accompanied by Mombasa County Assembly speaker Aharub Khatri, Changamwe Mp Omar Mwinyi, Mishi Mboko(Likoni), Ken Chonga (Kilifi South),Teddy Mwambire (Ganze), Abdikarim Osman(Fafi) and a host of Mombasa County Government senior officials .
Baringo Senator who is also Moi's son was also present at the meeting.
Details of what they discussed have however not yet been made public.
This comes just months after Gideon Moi paid Joho a courtesy call at his office where they also held brief discussion together with other KANU officials.
Joho who has made public his presidential ambitions is currently in a tour of the Rift Valley region where he is expected to preside over a fundraising for construction of Alsalam Mosque in Maralal, Samburu county on Saturday.
On Sunday the Governor will pitch camp at Churo Amaya ward in Baringo county where he will preside over another fund raising for Churo Girl's secondary school.
Other leaders who have since met the former head of state includes President Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
On May this year Deputy President Ruto's attempt to visit Moi at his Kabarak home failed. He was informed that the former head of state was undergoing a routine physiotherapy session with his doctors, forcing him to return to Nairobi.
Rift Valley is considered as Ruto's home turf.
