Professional boxing returns to Nairobi on Saturday, March 25 with Tanzania's crowd puller Karim Mandonga featuring in a five-bout card at Kasarani Gym from 5pm sponsored by DSTv.
Mandonga (4-3-1, 2 KOs) will take on Uganda's Kenneth Lukyamuzi (5-6-1, 2 KOs) in what promises to be an entertaining bout with both boxers vying for the vacant Pugilistic Syndicate of Tanzania (PST) light-heavyweight title fight scheduled for eight rounds.
This is Mandonga's second appearance in Nairobi after the packed January 14 card at KICC in which he beat Kenya's Daniel Wanyonyi via a 5th round TKO.
"Mandonga is back by public demand, Nairobians wanted to watch him in action again and we've given them what they want, I expect them in large numbers at Kasarani," says the promoter of the show Tanzania's Seleman Semunyu of Peak Time Media Promotions.
Mandonga's fight will be a co-main feature with the main bout pitting Kenya's pro boxing guru Nick Otieno aka Kanyankole (31-17-0, 13 KOs) vs Tanzania's Hassan Ndonga (7-2-1, 3 KOs) in an eight round vacant PST super-bantamweight title fight.
Kenya's Consolata Musanga will defend her PST super-bantamweight title against Tanzania's Fatuma Yazidu while Kenya's Plaxedus Oduor will entertain Tanzania's Zawadi Kutaka in an eight round non-title fight.
