Dandora Young Stars- winners of the 2018 ‘Under 16 Wanyama Roya Charity Cup’ have been awarded the top cash prize: Ksh. 500,000 by the tournament organizers. Main Stream, who came in second have also been awarded a total sum amount of: Ksh. 300,000. Coming in number three is The Green Santos who have also been awarded Ksh. 100,000, with Young Talent coming in 4^thplace being awarded Ksh. 100,000.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony held 26th July 2018, Operation Manager at Roya Entertainment Abdul Hack said, “We are happy to finally disburse the cash prizes to all the winners from the ‘Under 16 Wanyama Roya Charity Cup’. It wasn’t an easy process because we wanted to ensure that all the players and their parents are part of the process, on top of the supervision of their coaches.

"We also gave Safaricom airtime to every player and officials that participated in the tournament for upholding the sportsmanship spirit. We would like to give our sincere thanks to all the coaches for continuously training the players and most importantly, our sponsors NHIF, Safaricom, KICC and Coca-cola for helping make the tournament and awarding ceremony a success.” he added

The ‘Under 16 Wanyama Roya Charity Cup’ (30^th June and 1^st July, 2018) was founded by international Kenyan football stars, Victor Wanyama signed to Tottenham Hotspurs and brother McDonald Mariga signed to Real Oviedo in partnership with ROYA Entertainment.

The 11-a-side set knockout tournament drew 24 teams from various neighbourhoods within Nairobi including Kangemi, Lavington, South C, Mathare North, Kahawa Sukari, Ruai, Gigiri and Kaloleni, among others. The 2-day event that targeted under-16 players is now set for an annual calendar from 2019.
