Shahbal Offers Inspiration For The Youth, With A Tale Of His DJ Son Featured

As unemployment across the world continues to rise due to the coronavirus pandemic, Mombasa businessman cum politician Suleiman Shahbal has shared about his DJ son in an inspiration to help the younger generation survive the crisis.

In an interview with NRG radio, the former Mombasa Gubernatorial candidate in 2013 and 2017 general elections, advised the youth to stick to their passion but always have a plan B in life.

Shahbal observed the above can be achieved by acquiring multiple skills to get the deserved competence and then icing the cake by striving to get the best out of passion or talent.

The Managing Director of GulfCap Group and Gulf Investments Limited noted 'Passion is what differentiates between the average and the successful.'

Shahbal referred to his own son a Bcom student majoring in finance but who also works as a DJ in Dubai saying he is an example of a combination of multiple skills and passion.

"With a degree in finance , he can work as a banker, in the insurance industry and more besides... For him job opportunities are plenty but he is also a DJ... I have no problem with that because it is his plan B in life meaning incase something happens to his job he won't be caught flat footed," the businessman with over 23 years experience in banking with large multinational and regional financial institutions said.

At least one million Kenyans have lost their jobs or have been put on indefinite unpaid leave as the Covid-19 pandemic morphs into a major jobs crisis.

The worst-hit companies are in the tourism, transport, horticulture, communication and education sectors.
